Term 3 DLO – Skipping

Hello Everyone! This term for our DLO project we are learning a new skill. We had a variety of skills to choose from, most people did juggling but me and my friends Hailey ad Danielle chose double dutch! In week 1 we did some warm ups. In week 2 we skipped with one rope. And in week 3 we decided to change our skill to skipping because we thought that Double dutch was too har for us to do. In conclusion I would definitely do it again. It took us 4 weeks to learn skipping and it was really fun! Anyways GOODBYE!!!

STOP/GO Poster

Hi everyone! Today I finished my literacy task for the week. This week we had to read a book called Stop/Go by David Geary. for out create task we had to create a poster using google draw or Canva. This task was fun to do because I got to use my imagination and create the poster using Canva. GOODBYE!

Karawhiua! Give it heaps!

For this term the theme is Karawhiua which means Give it heaps. To introduce the theme Karawhiua into our school we had all of our teachers create a movie to introduce the elements of what their team will be learning for the term. Our team 5 teachers created a movie about Mr Wiseman learning how to juggle. All the teachers had to make a prediction which if they thought Mr Wiseman could archive his goal about juggling or not. Miss Langitupu and Mr Moran thought that Mr Wiseman could archive his goal, And the rest of the team 5 teachers didn’t think he could. In the holidays Mr Wiesman had to practise his juggling. On his 1 day he wasn’t good, but after 2 weeks he could juggle like a pro!

Lets move onto highlights and low-lights about my holidays! My highlight for the holidays was spending time with my family on my sisters birthday and eating Steak and mashed potatoes. My low-light for my holidays was rotting in my bed and watching mukbangs on tiktok.

My learning goals for term 3 is Participating in more sports and Kelly sports. My second goal is keeping on top of my work, and finishing it on time and also turning it in. My goals for outside of school become more active and introduce myself to more people.

Drama plays – A real steal

Hello everyone! Today for inquiry we are focusing on doing plays for our term 3 subject transform for school. How we did this was, We got split into different groups with different people, we then got books that had plays in them and we had to choose which one we had to do. The people in my group were Hailey, Mama D, Tumoe, and Neomi. The play we chose to do was called “A real steal” It was about people in an art gallery looking at art and then a robber comes in a robs the place, The play was a comedy play. The characters in the play were Patron 1,2 and 3, and there was a security guard a Curator a art critic and a Thief.

My highlight for this terms project, was being able to get out of my comfort zone and actually participate in this activity, another highlight was being able to communicate with other people. My low light was Performing to be honest. And one thing we could work on is Memorizing our lines because our play was planned last minute.

Our inquiry question was: How can I use the elements of drama (EOD) to express myself?

I remember Poster

Hello everyone today I have finished my literacy task for today. This week for literacy we wrote “I remember” poems about a time I was Surprised or scared. I chose to write a poem about the time I was surprised with a cat. We had to use our 5 senses in our poem. This task was easy and fun to do. I enjoyed it because I got to be creative and create a poster. HAve a good day GOODBYE!

Roald Dahls revolting rhymes (goldilocks and the three bears)

Hello everyone! I hope you enjoyed my little snippet of this recording because it was rushed! But anyways, in literacy we are learning about Roald Dahls revolting rhymes. me and my whole class had to pick one nursery rhyme from Roald Dahls revolting rhymes text, (link) I chose Goldilocks and the three bears, We all had to create a voice recording of us reading the story with tone, Expression, and enthusiasm. To me this task was easy, I also had a lot of fun doing this task because I think that reading with tone, expression, and enthusiasm just makes the story even more better and more interesting to me. Anyways I guess thats all im going to say for now, also sorry if it sounded like I was reading quickly because as I said, It was rushed! GOODBYE!!

Fraction of a set 1/2, 1/3, 1/4

Hello everyone! Today I have finished my math task for the day. This task was about Fractions of a set. for example a Fraction of a set is 1/3 of 30, the way to work it out is to divide it, (30 divided by 3 = 10) and there’s your answer 10. in my opinion this task was quick and easy to work out, The key thing is your multiplication. Transformers (term 2 immersion assembly)

Our Pt England way is to always kick start the term with an immersion assembly. Our immersion assembly today was no different to our other immersion assembly, our senior management team started us off by introducing our theme for the term: transformers – which is about drama.

Before team 1 Introduced their movie, Senior management dressed up as superheroes. Mrs Nua was Dressed up as Elastigirl from The incrdibles, Mr Somerville dressed up as spiderman, Mr Jacobsen dressed up as a soldier and Mr Burt dressed up as a pharaoh.

Team 3 was one of my favorites because it was based off of Matilda the musical. They re created the scene where the little boy ate a slice of chocolate cake, and was forced to eat a whole entire chocolate cake infront of his whole class.

Team 5 was another one of my Favorite skit as well, Their Skit was about the true meaning of Cinderella, It was really gory, Mr Wiseman had told us. In my opinion it was really funny, until Mr wiseman said that the prince chopped of the ugly step sisters heads off. But at the end of the story there was a plot twist. The plot twist was Mr wiseman and Cinderella are married and lived happily ever after.
