Team 5 immersion assembly.

Hello everyone! today is the first day of term 4! For the first day of school we had an immersion assembly. In immersion assembly Our principal Mr Burt introduced the theme for the term, The theme for this term is May the force be with you, Kia Kaha Te Kaha Ki A Koe. All our teachers made a movie about what their team was learning about. For team 5 we are learning about sound waves, vibrations, Music, and all about the ears. GOODBYE!

Term 3 DLO – Skipping

Hello Everyone! This term for our DLO project we are learning a new skill. We had a variety of skills to choose from, most people did juggling but me and my friends Hailey ad Danielle chose double dutch! In week 1 we did some warm ups. In week 2 we skipped with one rope. And in week 3 we decided to change our skill to skipping because we thought that Double dutch was too har for us to do. In conclusion I would definitely do it again. It took us 4 weeks to learn skipping and it was really fun! Anyways GOODBYE!!!

STOP/GO Poster

Hi everyone! Today I finished my literacy task for the week. This week we had to read a book called Stop/Go by David Geary. for out create task we had to create a poster using google draw or Canva. This task was fun to do because I got to use my imagination and create the poster using Canva. GOODBYE!

The Hitch-Hiker By Roald Dahl. (Play)

Scene: 

The hitch-hiker and the narrator ran out of money so they decided to pickpocket a rich man for food and gas money at the horse racing.

Narrator: Kensi

Hitchhiker: Hailey

 

 Narrator: We’ve run out of money, what should we do?

Hitchhiker: Have you already forgotten what I do for a living?

Narrator: You’re not actually going to, are you?

Hitchhiker: It’s fine stop being so paranoid. I’ve been doing this for many years and not once have I gotten caught.

Narrator: True but I’m just going to stand in the corner and act like I don’t know you.

Hitchhiker: C’mon it’ll be fine i’ll teach you!

Narrator: It’s wrong, I just can’t do it. 

Hitchhiker: Fine then you baby, wait here I’ll be back in 5 minutes, then we’ll have enough money for everything we need for the next couple of days. 

Narrator: Fine, but if you get caught I’m leaving you here. 

Hitchhiker: Whatever, that won’t happen though.

Narrator: Just saying, if it does.

Today in literacy we are Studying on Character traits based on “The hitch hiker” By Roald Dahl. We are also learning to Identify and analyze different characters from the way they think, talk, and act. Me and my Friend Hailey had to write a play about the book using the two main characters The Hitch Hiker and the Narrator. We had to Rewrite the situation and act it out. unfortunately Me and Hailey didn’t get to perform it but we did get to finish it.

About the characters:

Narrator – The Narrator is a Brave, Kind, and a trusting Character to be around.

Hitch-Hiker – The Hitch-Hiker is a Sneaky, Dishonest, And a Likable character to Be around with

Karawhiua! Give it heaps!

For this term the theme is Karawhiua which means Give it heaps. To introduce the theme Karawhiua into our school we had all of our teachers create a movie to introduce the elements of what their team will be learning for the term. Our team 5 teachers created a movie about Mr Wiseman learning how to juggle. All the teachers had to make a prediction which if they thought Mr Wiseman could archive his goal about juggling or not. Miss Langitupu and Mr Moran thought that Mr Wiseman could archive his goal, And the rest of the team 5 teachers didn’t think he could. In the holidays Mr Wiesman had to practise his juggling. On his 1 day he wasn’t good, but after 2 weeks he could juggle like a pro!

Lets move onto highlights and low-lights about my holidays! My highlight for the holidays was spending time with my family on my sisters birthday and eating Steak and mashed potatoes. My low-light for my holidays was rotting in my bed and watching mukbangs on tiktok.

My learning goals for term 3 is Participating in more sports and Kelly sports. My second goal is keeping on top of my work, and finishing it on time and also turning it in. My goals for outside of school become more active and introduce myself to more people.

Drama plays – A real steal

Hello everyone! Today for inquiry we are focusing on doing plays for our term 3 subject transform for school. How we did this was, We got split into different groups with different people, we then got books that had plays in them and we had to choose which one we had to do. The people in my group were Hailey, Mama D, Tumoe, and Neomi. The play we chose to do was called “A real steal” It was about people in an art gallery looking at art and then a robber comes in a robs the place, The play was a comedy play. The characters in the play were Patron 1,2 and 3, and there was a security guard a Curator a art critic and a Thief.

My highlight for this terms project, was being able to get out of my comfort zone and actually participate in this activity, another highlight was being able to communicate with other people. My low light was Performing to be honest. And one thing we could work on is Memorizing our lines because our play was planned last minute.

Our inquiry question was: How can I use the elements of drama (EOD) to express myself?

I remember Poster

Hello everyone today I have finished my literacy task for today. This week for literacy we wrote “I remember” poems about a time I was Surprised or scared. I chose to write a poem about the time I was surprised with a cat. We had to use our 5 senses in our poem. This task was easy and fun to do. I enjoyed it because I got to be creative and create a poster. HAve a good day GOODBYE!
